Visitors
Visitors are welcome to attend any of our public club meetings for a taster session. We run two fencing classes on club nights. The first starts at 6pm and is primarily designed for all under 14s. The second starts at 7pm and is for all other fencers. If someone attending the under 14 class would like to stay for all or part of the later session, please would they confirm this with us in advance.
The visitor's fee is currently £5 per hour, therefore £10 for the main class (7-9pm) or £5 for the under 14s class (6-7pm). This is to be paid either by electronic transfer in advance, or on arrival at the session. The visitor fee includes all equipment hire. Discounts are available for visitors with their own uniform and weapons.
From time to time we run more formal beginner's courses. They are typically 5 weeks long and cost £40, with payment due at the start of the course. Please get in touch if you would like to know when the next course is planned.
Parking at the YMCA is limited so please allow time for finding parking spaces if you intend to arrive by car.
Membership
Club membership is available on a termly basis (Sept-Dec, Jan-Apr, May-Aug). Membership entitles you to attend either the main club session (7-9pm) or the under 14s class lesson (6-7pm) at no extra charge. It also confers discounts on club coaching, tournaments and training days.
Membership subscriptions are currently £75 per term, due at the start of each term. A family memberships is also available for £150 per term.
Under 14s and all beginners may borrow any equipment needed from the club. However, adult members are required to purchase their own breeches at a minimum and they are advised to obtain their own equipment if possible.
